Total Home Organization: Deep Clean.

Deep Clean is the first installment in my new series called Total Home Organization. I am definitely going to jump into the actual organization part but I felt like it would be beneficial to everyone involved if we first talked about my favorite cleaning products and why you need them in your home.

The very first step to a well organized home is being clean. I will always believe that. I should have that hanging somewhere in my house honestly. I don’t know about you, but I have a really hard time functioning in a home that is dirty. It may have something to do with the fact that being a biology major, I know way more than the average person about germs. It is not a blessing people. Believe me when I say ignorance is bliss.

Instagram Beauty Trends: 2016

We all know that there are a LOT of beauty trends out there that make us raise our eyebrows and say, “but who would ever wear that???” Well, I was doing some research this past weekend on the latest beauty trends (to stay updated and all that — I have a fear of missing out on new and exciting makeup trends), and I came across a couple that looked good on the models but I just couldn’t decide if the every day woman could pull it off without getting weird looks at the grocery story.

 

 

My goal for this post was to set out and tackle 5 beauty trends of 2016 and wear them for an entire day to see if we really can pull them off. The beauty trends I chose are as follows:

Defining Your Personal Decorating Style.

A week or two ago, I was at the store get things to decorate my little apartment when I stopped and realized I had no idea what my personal decorating style was and if it correlated to what my husband’s was (while he doesn’t like to spend hours at the craft store — rude, I know — he does have a small idea of how he would like our home decorated, and I would like us both to be happy). We are living in a tiny one bedroom apartment right now while we finish school, so we haven’t done too much decorating (especially since we aren’t allowed to put holes in the wall). I am hoping when we graduate and can get a little bit bigger apartment, we will be able to take the style we developed together and really put together a beautiful home.

Makeup Tutorial: Everyday Makeup.

Hello, lovely ladies! Today I am going to be doing a “get ready with me” tutorial for you guys on my everyday makeup routine. I am going to show you the items I use, how I use them and where you can find them!

I plan on doing some more fun makeup tutorials but for now, I thought I would start with the basics. This is my go-to makeup routine and it is very easy. I’m by no means a makeup artist, but nobody who reads my blog is a makeup artist (unless, obviously, you are..then I am super jealous of you). Sometimes it can be hard to copy MUA tutorials when you don’t have all the right products and 600 brushes. I only use a handful of brushes and most of my products are easy to find or at least easy to duplicate (check out this list of mascara and eyeliner dupes here I wrote about a few months ago..I plan on doing a comprehensive list of makeup dupes in the next few weeks for you guys as well!)

Back already? Perfect. These are my latest obsessions (don’t check my shopping cart because its embarrassingly full…), so let me introduce you. They are sold at the sweetest british boutique, Boho Betty. Full disclosure: I haven’t always been a bracelet girl, and I’m still not a bangle girl (I don’t like the jingly sounds they make). But a few years ago, I discovered chunky watches and stacked leather bracelets and how they tie an entire outfit together. Because these bracelets are leather, they don’t make any annoying sounds but still have PLENTY of bling (I didn’t even need to hear anything else before I decided I was IN).
